Variants
The 2022 Hyundai Creta is available in multiple variant options, such as – E, EX, S, S+, SX, and SX (O) in both petrol and diesel engine options. The company recently introduced the Creta Knight edition in the country, which is based on the SX (O) variant.
Market introduction
The 2022 Hyundai Creta was launched in India on 3 May, 2022.
Engine and Specification
Mechanically, the Hyundai Creta is available in three engine options. The 1.5-litre MPI petrol engine (six-speed MT/IVT) produces 113bhp at 6,300rpm and 143.8Nm of peak torque at 4,500rpm. This engine is available in both options. The 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel (six-speed MT/six-speed AT) produces 113bhp at 4,000rpm and 250Nm of torque between 1,500-2,750rpm. The 1.4-litre Kappa Turbo GDi petrol (seven DCT) produces 138bhp. The SUV offers three drive modes – Eco, Sport, and Comfort and three traction control modes (Snow, Sand, and Mud).
Exterior
Visually, the updated Creta does not get any major cosmetic upgrades, except for the addition of a new Denim Blue colour option. That said, the Creta Knight Edition features a de-chromed front grille with a horizontal red insert. Additionally, this variant gets gloss black front and rear skid plates, roof rails, C-pillar garnish, ORVMs, and side sills. At the rear, the SUV gets a ‘Knight Edition’ emblem and smoked tail lamps. Depending on the variant, the vehicle rides on a set of 16-inch or 17-inch alloy wheels. The regular model continues to feature cascading grille, split headlamps, and taillamps, which are all a part of the global design language.
Interior
Like the exterior, the interior does not get major changes. The SX (O) trim now also gets a glossy black centre console. Apart from this, features like Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) come as standard across all variants. Meanwhile, the S+ variant with a 1.4-litre Turbo engine offers a Smart panoramic sunroof, wireless smartphone charger, ESC, VSM, HAC, electric and auto-folding ORVMs, and more.
Depending on the variant in the regular version of the Creta, the vehicle offers a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, auto headlamps, powered mirrors, all-four disc brakes, ambient lighting, integrated air purifier, Bose sound system, smartphone connectivity, and more.
Seating capacity
The 2022 Hyundai Creta can accommodate five passengers.
