Yamaha Motor India has announced the launch of the new YZF-R15 V4.0 in our market. The 155cc supersport-style motorcycle will be available in two variants (Standard and M) in India.
Both variants feature a styling upgrade that comprises a revised front fascia and higher-spec hardware. The new models get a bi-functional LED headlight instead of the twin-pod headlamp on the outgoing version. Other styling cues include a full-fairing, M air duct design, step-up seat, and side-slung exhaust. Both motorcycles use a digital instrument cluster, although the M variant further benefits from Bluetooth connectivity, quickshifter, and a traction control system.
The motorcycle is available in four colour options – Metallic Grey, Racing Blue, Dark Knight, and Metallic Red. The company will also offer a limited-edition MotoGP variant of the YZF-R15 M.
The mechanical specifications continue to feature a BS6-compliant 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that now makes 18.1bhp as against 18.3bhp on the outgoing model. The peak torque output is rated at 14.2Nm at 7,500rpm. The six-speed gearbox benefits from a slipper and an assist clutch.
The suspension setup on the motorcycles comprises upside-down front forks and a rear mono-shock. The braking tasks are handled by single discs on both wheels while the safety net is provided by a dual-channel ABS and a side-stand engine cut-off function
